All Eyes On... WPLUS9 STAMPS!

Well, it just makes sense: this month, some of the gals from WPLUS9 are focusing on STAMPS! When I contemplate the vast, and AMAZING, assortment of stamps Dawn has created and shared with the rest of the stamping WORLD... It's mind-boggling! This month, we've been asked to showcase our "favorites!" {Ha ha ha! - there is NOT enough time in the world to do THAT! At least not this week!} But I, being something of a rebel, couldn't possibly narrow it down to ONE set...

I love these stamps SO much, I could KISS them! {I really could!} So here is some proof of the fun I have with some of my MOST faves....

Okay, this one is Kerrianne's first stamp design contribution to WPLUS9.... It's from the set "Hooked On You," which is ADORABLE and... stuffed to the gills {sorry! I HAD to go there!} with darling sentiments and positively delightful images... Being a fisher-gal from long ago, this set is SO very special, and fun, to me!

So, THAT was a HOOT! I think it's safe to say that Hooked on You, is a veritable SEA of stamping possibility... My NEXT set, of complete infatuation, and never-ending delight, is one of Dawn's earliest creations, "Funky Flowers." It's funky, fresh and LOADED with sentiments and modern design components... My VERY most favorite image, is Dawn's unforgettable owl drawing... " Mr. Owly..." {sooooooo cute!} , a timeless character, that I have used again, and again! For this card, I added a bit of brown flocking, and then paper-pieced his extra huge, owly eyes to emphasize his unforgettable gaze....

In case you missed it, I'm still having my love affair with Earth Love from Cosmo Cricket.... I found SO many of Dawn's stamps to meet my needs when celebrating this spectacular collection of color and images.... Words from Kisses and Cuddles stamp set, helped me complete this baby card with just the PERFECT sentiment! The ENDLESS ways to combine words, and sentiments in this set, just slay my graphically-challenged mind. How Dawn gets fonts to obey her every wish and command {?} AMAZES me...! They make my job FUN & EASY! I hope you'll take a gander at this set, even if you don't have a huge need for a "baby" set... It's a KEEPER!

Finally, one more dabble at lovin' Mr. Owly, and my obsession with Earth Love. Dawn's stamps + Cosmo Cricket = WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE!?!

In addition to my favorite little friend from Funky Flowers, I used the wood grain from Woodgrain Silhouettes to make that lil' tree trunk as a foundation for my cute, wide-eyed friend. I stamped one of the leaf stamps from Funky Flowers, direct to the sky designer paper, to make my own leaves for this tree trunk {that was a lil' thrill...! Remember, my middle name is DANGER!} ...AND, I dumped some WAY old tackle with that terrific leaf ribbon and fantastic striped ribbon... Mmmmmm, hmmmm.... dumpin' tackle makes a girl feel GOOD!

Ya know what else makes a girl feel good? Recommending to my bloggy friends, some terrific stamps and HIGHLY talented inspiration sources... To be EVEN MORE SPECIFIC..., check out what Dawn, Savitri, Jinny and Kerrianne have done to demonstrate the super fun value of our latest All Eyes On inspiration.... It's a GOOD time, babies! I hope you'll enjoy the show!!!!

Thanks for sharing a bit of time with me: it never ceases to delight my soul to hear from you and know that you've stopped by! Have a TERRIFIC fall day - enjoy!!!!!

Grateful GLIMMER!

I'm ALL about the glimmer, babies!

I had WAY too much fun last month, when Dawn from W9, suggested we play with some glimmer, sparkle, shimmer ~ whatEVER you want to call pearly, inky, spray magic that takes paper from PAPER to P-E-R-F-E-C-T-I-O-N!!! And I have to say, I just haven't been able to get enough!!!

Should I spare you the details on how I've been ...uh... "collecting" those fabby lil' sprayers from Ranger/Tim Holtz...? {{HELLO, weird science!}} I've been making POTION! So, yeah, I'll spare ya. But if you haven't played with pearly powder, ink, H2O & mist.... Oh, honey, baby, sweethearts! I'm full blown ADDICTED! {Thank YOU, T!m, and countless others, who have inundated YouTube and GOOGLE with hilarious, informative and downright Oscar caliber performances: recipes, suggestions and tutorials...} MOST of the ingredients... to get you GOING!

That's how I got here:

Never mind, that the main image is a "leftover" from some stamping, for a card I made, like a YEAR ago... But those LEAVES...{Holy FESTIVAL of glimmer, shimmer, pearly wonder!}... THEY are new! Compliments of Tim's latest Sizzix release.... die cut HEAVEN - infinitely possible paper craft possibility...OMG {I love these!}...! I sure hope you can SEE just how glimmered up THEY are: I took the liberty of mixing my, personal potions HEAVY on the pearl powder.... Yeah, baby!!!

So, THAT'S how I've been getting busy with my paper craft, lately. A bunch of organizing, a LOT of "collecting" and PLENTY of glimmer, shimmer and shine! Hope your Autumn is golden and sparkly!

It's here, it's HERE!

The BIG reveal!

It's finally time for the, WPLUS9 design studio, October {3 sets!} 2010 unveiling! Are you ready!?!

Not ONLY was I inspired by the Damask Frames shape {that reminded me of a spider!!!!}, but I used the spooky mojo to get ALL kinds of fun materials OUT, inky and in the game! TAKE, for example, that spider-web embossing folder!!! I used it more like a faux letterpress - CHECK out my friend, LeAnne's post on the subject. {What a COOL look! Totally had to borrow that great technique!!!} So, yeah - Spider Web's maiden voyage was a fun one!

To REALLY get close to the edge....{!} I ripped open some brand new, Stampin' Up! "In Color!" Where I found a spookilicious combo in Pear Pizazz, Peach Parfait and Concord Crush... purrrr, purrrrr, MEOW! Just the right palette for THIS lil' guy ~ {dontcha' think?} ~

When I saw Dawn's first day of samples {*swoon!*} I kept seeing the Damask Design as a spider! That's when I got the idea for this cutie... AND SINCE I'M SUCH A FAN OF THE "Google Eye"... {hee hee} ANY excuse to glue some of those puppies down! Anywhooo, I love how this lil' spidey turned out!

Now, for my next trick...

{I, uh, don't actually have one - YET!} But I'm certain that my friends from the W9 team will! Please, please, click on over and enjoy their show{s}! {You'll REALLY be glad you did!}

This was, no doubt, a hauntingly fun REVEAL! Check out all three sets in their entirety, HERE!!! And then see how Dawn spun our final samples into her own web of GRAPHIC DESIGNER magic! {I love her graphic work ALMOST as much as I love her paper craft!} It's a goooooood time!

Speaking of GOOD... gooooooood bye, for now! {*wink!*} I'm THRILLED to have had you stop by!

October Release - Sneak Peek Day #3!

Yipeeee!

It's day NUMBER three! {Aren't we so sneaky! Aren't you DYING to see the rest of these sets!?!}

Set # 3, from WPLUS9 design studio, is called Pointsettia Patterns - ENDLESS fun, and terrific sentiments abound. This is a truly modern and versatile set - it's earmarked for Christmas, but the gorgeous, elegant and complimentary patterns and images make it a set for ALL seasons! Look closely how, "Mrs. Non-mathmatical" me created patterns with just some of the stamps from this set! [And for much more sound mathematics {!} check out what DAWN did!]

The semi scalloped, circular piece in this card was created, by merely STAMPING, using Sizzix Circles #2 as a guide and mask. {There are four different size circles} First, use a scratch piece of card stock and cut the circles - SAVE circle shapes and the negative image. I used the biggest CIRCLE as my main guide, stamping two different Poinsettia stamps, both in Riding Hood Red {the smaller stamped-off once} at opposing sides of this circle, stamping AROUND the circle shape, lightly tacked down to my Vanilla card stock... Brain trust that I am, I did not think to take pictures along the way... Here's my main guide "leftover" so you can get the idea... No measuring here - I'm an eyeball girl ALL THE WAY!

The OUTSIDE edge of these stamps is what created the large, scallop shape. I used the negative shapes of the circles to trace around the stamped images, with pencil, and then cut out the shape with my fave detail scissors. I attached the smallest circle in the middle with low tack tape, used the negative LARGE circle to mask in reverse {to protect the already stamped outside edge} and then stamped the green inner circle. After removing all masking, I stamped the red CENTER image, using the NEGATIVE shape of the smallest circle to mask again. I hope that doesn't sound too complicated - it was actually easy, and not very time consuming! I don't think you could go wrong just to play, anyway... {That's what I love SO much about stamping to begin with! Eh!?!}

What I love about this look is that my main image is one LAYER of stamping. {Although you could surely stamp your heart out, and then just stack circles, cut with your favorite circle cutter... I love the fact that I did it on one level.} Click on the image to see all the detail! What fun!

Since no release party is a PARTY if you don't see EVERYTHING...{!} I hope you'll check out what wonderful stamp celebration the other gals came up with! CHECK 'EM, friends! {It's all good!}

Back in blogland, again...

celebrating W9 with my friends...{!}

Yes, I'm feeling THANKFUL! I've got a lovely stack of Dawn's latest stamp sets, three different designs and it's time to sneak peak our way to fabulousness! OCTOBER 2010 release, babies!!! It's here!

Check out the gorgeous Damask design I've stamped here with ACRYLIC paint onto some transparent material! {Dawn's stamps took acrylic paint beautifully, and I was able to clean them with no trouble, using a baby wipe!} Like "buddah" - these gorgeous images stamped and cleaned up like a dream!

Even this elegant sentiment, from Mehndi Medallions, stamped well with acrylic paint, lightly sponged directly onto the stamp. I liked the near opaque quality of this sentiment over one {of TWO!} journaling line styles from this set...

Damask Frames
  • is a 6x8 clear photopolymer stamp set
  • contains 13 stamps; 3 sentiments, 4 frames, 2 journaling lines, and 4 accent images.
  • will be available for purchase October 7th for just $19

For those of you in LOVE with Damask {and REALLY, isn't that ALL of us!} this is a set to give you endless combination possibilities! Seriously! I was struck by the "journaling medallion" look, but if you love to connect patterns and blaze your own, unique Damask trail, YOU are going to adore this set! For your NEXT stop, check out Dawn's samples - I'm telling you - she NEVER stops inspiring me! And, as always, I'm certain you'll love what the other gals have created with this most unique and all purpose set - I hope you'll go explore for yourself!

Kerrianne
Hannah
&
Dawn!

I've been "off" paper craft for a few weeks, but playing with this set got me RIGHT back in the saddle! What a fun ride! There's something about Dawn's images that gets me stamping SO easily... Yeahooooo! {Now, I'm ready for day 2! hee hee - HOLD YOUR HORSES - I'll just have to wait until TOMORROW!}
