Heeeeyyyyyy, friends! It's my FAVE night of Wplus9's latest release! GROUP RELEASE DAY!

I love GROUP RELEASE day for MANY reasons...

But my FAVORITE reason is that by our last night of a release festival...
{*whisper*} I'm feeling a little sassy about the use of said "new set"...
In other words - we're FAMILIAR! {!} It always reminds me HOW much
potential is PACKED into W9 stamps - and I'm eager to share.......

So for today's project, I'm featuring multi, complimentary uses of "Pile it On!"

If you've seen Dawn's latest video, you've probably already seen her new die
in action! Additionally, it was EXPOSED, yesterday, in the big reveal!
{*Swoon!*} I love that, in addition to the adorable ice cream shapes, there are
also these adorable mini pennant shapes that are produced in multiples of 3!
I had created a lovely pile of "blanks" and that turned out to be my inspiration
for this BIRTHDAY menagerie of greetings and love for a darling lady...........!

Sometimes I need to get OUT of the card box.... {!} - So in this case, I went small
so that I could go LARGE! I channeled ATC scale, but then sandwiched them
together so that I could fill a blank frame that's been kicking around my scrap room
for far too long... AND SOME DARLING NEW PAPER FROM Cosmo Cricket!!!
All that and a WIDE-OPEN crafting day.... *SCHWING!* Awesome FUN!

I inked NEARLY every stamp in the set for this project, AND
cross-pollinated with a few stamps from So 80's {ANOTHER beaut!}
REALLY - what a blast to get to know this set, soooooo completely!

So, I went a little MOD, ala Mad Men... and some fun word play with
Dawn's latest set, Pile it ON! ~ Sometimes I truly can't account for WHERE
I go with her beautiful sets, but THAT'S what the journey is right about,
AM I RIGHT?

SUGAR!!!!!

So, I piled on some more! {Ice CREAM!} What a FUN set!

Here we are on the 2nd night of Wplus9 Design Studio's
grand, May release extravaganza, and I'm lovin' this new
set, Pile It On! There are 25 stamps in this baby, but I
cannot stop playing with the scrumptiously drawn Ice Cream
scoop, and I haven't even PLAYED with the second one yet!
Well, just look at the sweetness of this daring image...

Yum! {No extra charge for the sprinkles, by the way! DAWN is sooooo clever!}
I bypassed the coordinating "cone" and created a bowl, with the largest tier of
cake decor {you'll have to see it - SO darlin!}, which I stamped with White Craft
ink, onto Kiwi Kiss card stock, and then punched a circle, cut it in half and called
it an ICE CREAM bowl!!! I stamped the ice cream shape multiple times, cut them
out and filled my jolly bowl with fun! PILE IT ON, BABY! I'm going to FILL this
card with gratitude and send it to a friend who deserves a truck load! How FUN!

...for Father's Day and the latest, craftiest JUGS challenge - YEOWZA!

We HAD fun!

I'll have to admit RIGHT now, that as a kid, I was kinda envious, when some of my
guy friends and brothers got to go to "Indian Guides..." Bear cubs - what EVER they were....
I wanted to do something outdoorsy with MY dad... So I channeled that for this project..

{Not to discredit my sweet mama, who was a BROWNIE leader, extraordinaire!}

But this one's for the DAD'S! The "Pinewood Derby" building, engineering types....

I built me a tiny TEE PEE! Yes, I did!

Meanwhile, if you're not too tired from all the history projects YOU helped do this year
{I'm talking to YOU, 4th & 5th grade mothers - you KNOW who you are! Lol!}
Here's how I built my fun lil' TEE PEE!



Once again, my SpellbindersTM pennant die is NOT just for pennants!



In this case, it's a TEE PEE panel template, only I added the edges
and then scored them with my trusty MS score machine! {Love IT!}



I stamped the edges with a BEAUTIFUL Aztecky-Western patterned stamp
by my FAVORITE Western stamp artist, Claire from Waltzing Mouse Stamps!
{Meow!!!! ~ or, uh, should I say, NEIGGGHHHH!!!!!}
Oh, and I added a little entrance for my TEENY tiny Indian Dad..
{Wait - where was THIS idea when my kid did his report on the
"Indian in the Cupboard"! Drats! I am READY for summer vacation!}

Edges were glued!


Paper was distressed and separated to make "beams"...



Here's how the construction looks from the inside of the TEE PEE!


I traced the bottom of my TEE PEE foundation and then straightened
the lines with a ruler and added the edge for gluing...


I don't know if you can see the pencil lines ~ here's how it looked after I cut it out...
Then, generously gluing the flaps, I just popped it right into the bottom! Bam!



I cut off the top of my TEE PEE! Ouch!



But then I added the "beams" and I was good to GO!



Hot on the trail of little Hiawatha and OTHER such strange childhood memories...

Hi, friends!

Huge apologies for my absence... it's been a wild few months, but I SURVIVED leaving
my fabulous homestead and venturing ALL THE WAY TO PHILADELPHIA for a family
reunion and a dear celebration of life for my late Uncle James... and WHAT a celebration
it was - we had a FANTASTIC time, even through the tears of remembrance - there was joy!

There were rekindled relationships and GENERATIONS of great folks...
