I got MY GIRL on!

At my house, it's kind of the season of "girl"....

This is the month when the BABY girl arrived... THIS baby girl arrived.... {back there around when the dinosaurs, and all, were doing their thing.. Ahem!} Anyway, April is a GIRLY month. That's all. Hence, this:

Well, Dawn's stamps didn't hurt the mood! {Have you CHECKED out the full reveal on her blog: OMG! BEAUTIOUS images, to be SURE!} I love GROUP release night: it's my FAVORITE!!! By then, we've all been inky fools and GROUP celebration just feels like the big recital! {I LOVE it!}

These stamps just start TALKIN' to me! They want to break out and run free with the herd
{and WHAT a herd it is!} ALL my W9 stamps start playin'... MORE materials start to kick up their heels - It looks a lot like MY horses did this evening when I had to recruit BOTH kids and a dog, to help me get my HORSES into their stalls! It's like a BIG old RODEO of stamps {and horses!}
... None of 'em can help themselves: it's spring! THAT'S... what I'm talking ABOUT!

For some more SURE fire signs of SPRING and other such stampalicious goodness, I do hope you'll click
on over to my delightful DT pals of Wplus9 Design!!!!! EVERYTHING'S blooming!

Want2 BLING up some fun!?!

To check out my Just Us Girls 3D template technique, click here! {But please stay for some blingy inspo, too!}

C'mon!

They say diamonds are a girl's best friend, but WE know that BLING, whether it be
sparkled or pearlized, is a CRAFTY person's VERY DEAR friend!
{Notice, BLING doesn't discriminate ~ girl, boy, it don't matter!} heh heh

All I know is that MY stash of bling, is on SPEED dial, if YA know what I mean!
I can barely craft without it!

A few weeks ago, I made this:

My SUPER talented cohorts at Just Us Girls and I made FAT envelopes {Woot*Woot!*}
And, in my excitable and sometimes downright silly blog voice, I taunted YOU,
insisting that I would be back to share the little treasure to be tucked inside!

I AM A GIRL OF MY WORD!

I'm back to share a SUPER fun companion to this lil' chicky!

THIS is my BLINGED-OUT banner BONANZA!

Thanks to the inspiration from my plethora of Want2Scrap bling {SCHWING!!!}
and their exciting relationship with Want2Scrap {bring ON the Nestabling! C'mon APRIL!}
I was sent a handsome stash of Spellbinders to work with, so I made THIS fun
banner with their nested pennant die collection, but ALSO, I topped them off with
Labels Nine, accented with circles and scallops and just generally, had a diecutting,
stamping, paperpiecing, painting, shading and completely BLINGED - OUT festival!

For ALL of the bling-a-licious details {!},
I would POSITIVELY be doing cartwheels of gratitude if you would go check out the
BLINGY fun and {slightly addicting} project, over thar, at the WANT2SCRAP
blog, and leave me a lil' love over there, too! Shameless, I know! But I would be positively
giddy with joy if you dropped a few words of of excitement about WHAT amazing things
bling can do, either on THIS project, or in your OWN crafty life!

YOU are THE BEST!

THANK you soooooooooooooooooooooo much for your kind words and support!

YOU, ROCK!

Still trying to coax out some SPRING!

I'm still at it!

I'm NOT giving up....

I even dragged another Just Us Girls project into the fight! I'm DEMANDING spring to perform, at ONCE!

Luckily for me, there is a PERFECT place to harvest some spring beauty....
Just Us Girls have a MOST wonderful challenge going this week! ZIPPER flowers!

This technique is SO addicting! Start grabbing your OLD jeans, jackets and sewing kits:

You'll be pickin' for parts in no time! This is SUCH an fabulous technique!

That's RIGHT! Get your 3D glasses out! {But ... don't ACTUALLY put them on...!}

The, ever so lovely, DANA, is challenging us with a smokin' hot, 3D template idea!
I'm SO excited! WHO doesn't love a hand crafted flower, AM I RIGHT?
In case you didn't hear me gushing about the incredible sights of Winter CHA 2011 -
PAPER and FABRIC flowers were EVERYWHERE!

So, imagine my delight when not only did Dana decide to host a JUGS challenge,
she created a step by step tutorial for us to follow on our BELOVED place for BLING,
Want2Scrap! I hope you'll check out her work there, as well as on the
Just Us Girls website and indulge yourself by viewing ALL the fine work
of the HUGELY inspirational corral of fabby design chicks....

Alyssa!

Meanwhile, let me tell you just a smidge about my Zipper flower journey!

First of ALL - there is a WONDERFUL craft/thrift shop not far from my home
and I was the lucky companion of, none other than Paper Daydream, herself:
Dana, just a few weeks ago! The lovely store that benefits a local senior center was
having a 50% off sale, on their ALREADY way-reasonable prices, so I GOT me some
zippers! {And a whole sackful of "hoardables!"} Yeahoooooooooo!

The zippers were LONG, and the twill was neutral, and the possibilities ARE endless....

So, I ABSOLUTELY could NOT us those!

{'Cause... I might NEED 'em! Later! In a zipper flower EMERGENCY!}

Soooooooooooo, I went through a vast hoarding.. ur, I mean STASH, of zippers I have
collected ... just BEcause... Some of them are brightly colored {remember the
zipper craze in Scrapbooking down there, round about '04? OH, yeah!}, but had
nylon teeth... {Maybe NOT quite as charming as metal teeth...} AND some of my
previously hoarded zippers are WAY manish! {From the Nash Bridges booty of 2001}

So what's a girl to do?

PAINT!

That's RIGHT, babies! I painted my zippers with acrylic paint, let them dry
before running a stitch along the bottom of twill. I used strong nylon thread
and pulled those suckers HARD! Although, Dana's technique is FLAWLESS
in it's presentation of a beautifully rounded "Ranuculus" type of flower,
I immediately fell in love with the more disheveled look of the puckering and
gathering that occurred, so I decided to go with more of a crazy, mutated
kind of Carnation type of look! Yes, FOLKS! You'll have to believe me, OR
perhaps you'll join us - and then you'll know what kind of zipper flower
YOU are! {Trust me on THIS - you'll BE glad you did! I LOVE this technique!}

Thank you, SO much, for stopping by!
Having you here was like a ...
{wait for IT!!!}
breath of SPRING air!

OH. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I LOVE stamps!

I don't know if you know that about me or not.

{Doh!}

In fact, MOST OF US, love our stamps! THAT'S WHYYYYYYYYYYY,
I'm so thrilled with this month's All Eyes On.... feature at Wplus9DesignStudio!
Our subject of contemplation is "repetition!"

Oh, WHAT'S THAT, you ask? Did someone suggest stamping
the same image MULTIPLE times!
Oh, myyyyyyyyyyyyyyy! What a WONDERFUL idea!
{Thanks, DAWN!} She's so, so clever, you know!
WHAT a TERRIFIC idea. I LOVE STAMPS! How many of us have purchased stamps
and only used them... say, ONCE! Twice? Maybe NEVER! *Gasp!*
Oh, sure, we have every intention to USE them
{*Swoon!* We LOVE them, soooooooooo!},
but then we use them, love them, hoard them... and STORE them away....
Maybe for a RAINY day!

Heh Heh... WELL, IT'S RAININ' AT MY HOUSE! I'll tell ya THAT!

Yes, please. I'd love to stamp something... many, many times! Ohhhhhhh, babies!
It just FEELS so good! Stamp, stamp, stamp! {YOUR stamps will thank you!}

So, I got down and busy with my Guiding Light set from Wplus9 and was inspired to
create a repeating grid pattern {scene - of course!}, but it was SO fun! I doubt I would
have ever been inspired to do this, if not for Dawn's lovely suggestion! Here's some
shots of how I brought it all together, if you're interested!

MUST love post-its! A repetitive stamper's WONDERFUL friend! Remember when we did a
segment on masking! It's so old school and SO fabulous! It's ALWAYS worth the effort, in
my little stamp-crazed mind!

Just a bright and shining beacon of lovely stamping fun and a FESTIVAL of
"thank goodness for hoarding!" Uh, I mean, I'm so blessed to have so many
WONDERFUL stamps to work with..... THAT'S definitely, DEFINITELY
what I meant... Definitely!

Besides this wonderful stamping focus from my darling friend, Dawn,
I chose to work with this SUPER inspirational sketch from Card Patterns
for this week! CHECK IT OUUUUUUT, friends!

I thought this was SUCH a fun way to combine stampy inspiration!
I THOROUGHLY hope you'll consider some stampy-fun compositional play
if you have some time! Here's a little more crafty food for thought:

The Wplus9 crew has some SUPER inspiration to share, as per USUAL!

Savitri
Jinny
Kerrianne

Oh, stamping... God's kindest gift to the crafty set, if ya don't mind me saying....

*SIGH!*

I really will keep the light on for ya... {Yeeeeeeee! I love that sentiment!}

YOU go stamp something, now! It's okay.

Blame it on ME! {I don't mind!}

Just Us Girls - reporting for COLOR duty!

There's been kind of a theme in most of my projects, lately, and I'm happy to see that SO many of my favorite and craftiest friends are in the same mood... SPRING! {Yes, please! I'd love some!}

STAT!

Anywhoo, how 'bout a little bit of THIS to get the sunbeams working!

Oh, friends, when I gaze upon THIS color palette, I'm PRACTICALLY ready to unwrap my first box of marshmallow "peeps" for the season! And what I REALLY want to know, is, "do you like your peeps soft.... or DRIED!" If I worked with Martha Stewart perfection, I'd have mine on the drying rack by now: I like 'em CRUNCHY! Oooooooowwww! O-V-E-R-S-H-A-R-E!!!! {Sorry.}

Here's our lovely palette, for your consideration:

We were SO lucky to be sponsored by Paper Makeup Stamps this week!

Not ONLY are the images adorable!!!! But most are available in Digi & rubber!
I used this lil' darling, Felicity the Fawn! {*SWOON!*}
and these sentiments, Cute Critter Sayings {HOW perfect for lil' me!}!
I hope you'll pop on by there and check out the goods! {AND yes - they ARE!}
When you're done drooling {!} come back and share a card with us!
Katie Cotton, the lovely and talented owner, is giving away a $20.00 gift certificate!

Meanwhile - I'm just going to gush... I LOVE THIS CUTIE PIE!

{I am a sucker for sparkly eyes like these! Such darling ARTWORK!}

I, easily, stamped this sentiment around this circle, using the unmounted red rubber
to its fullest potential! I've really learned to embrace the freedom of unmounted stamps!

{I know!}

I added that cake image, because I decided to make this card in celebration of
The Shabby Tea Room's 1st BIRTHDAY BASH! {Yeah, YOU!}

I've never had a chance to partake in the fun over there, but I have SO MANY friends
who love it so, and have made me drool again, and again! So I'm FINALLY playing
along! This card just came together with sort of a birthday flavor {!} so it worked!
Happy 1st Birthday!

At least one thing is nice about this LONG winter we seem to be having here in
Northern California - there's MUCH time for crafting! Yipeeeeeeeeee!

A lot of LUCK!

For my JUGS project, please click or scroll here!
For my Wplus9 Color Cue card, please click or scroll here!

That's what I wish for us ALL on this fine, fun & festive day-o-the-green!
{Insert Irish brogue here!}
May rainbows and shamrocks be smilin' upon you,
and the biggest pot of gold, sparkle deep in your soul....

But ... just... in ...case.... you're not feelin' GREEN enough.... I have a special
satchel full of St. Patty's Day cheer, and a LOT of "E-ster style blarney" to share !
So, don't get your MUSSY in a TUSSY! I've GOT enough blarney for US ALL!

Speaking of blarney! I never EVEN knew what a Tussy Mussy was, until I saw my nifty and ever so crafty friend, Dana, aka PaperDaydream make something exquisite and then explain the term "Tussy Mussy." Hmmmm. I always thought they were those elegant little cones, people put flowers in for weddings and home dec! Now I know they have a FUNNY name!
{This old gal learns somethin' new - well, REALLY everyday!}

Anyway, whatEVER you call them - I made one!

It's filled with lots of LUCK! Lots of blinged out, green-a-licious,
this is better than green beer, Irish blessings and LUCK!
So ask yourself THIS question:
Do YOU feel lucky!?!

I hope so!

I am the WAY lucky recipient of some SUPER fabulous Spellbinder's Dies,
as a benevolent celebration of the union of Want2Scrap and their fantastic
new line of BLING, that is created to coordinate, perfectly with many super
Spellbinder's dies - it's a match made in crafty HEAVEN! Anywhoo, part of
my fabulous booty, came in the form of the nested pennant die collection! In my
christening of this AWESOME tool, I created a super fun and easy way
to assemble a festive cone of LUCK! {Not to be confused with the "cone of shame!}

One piece of card stock = 4 pennants {largest of the collection}

Select two of the pieces and your favorite scoring tool.
Score straight down the middle of the triangle.

Score evenly along both sides, starting at 1/2" in and meeting
approximately 1/4" from the bottom.

The outside scores create flaps, that will be used to secure the cone together.

Work the center fold...

Then the sides..., think "accordian"...

The end result of your folding, should resemble a paper airplane.

*Maybe you DON'T want the aerospace engineers in your family to
get a peek at this! {I really did give it a test flight! It works!}

Snip off the tops of each side flap at an angle so they won't
poke out of the top of your TUSSY! {I just like saying "tussy"}

With the large fold facing in, apply glue on the "wings" and secure to one of the two unfolded pennant shapes.
{Before I did this step, I ran my two flat pieces through
an embossing folder! You could stamp, emboss, or decorate
as you are inspired! Probably want to do that FIRST! Doh!}

Here's a view from the top!

For added visual interest {or FUNCTION!} I added ribbon, before I finished my cone,
so that if I wanted to secure it to a chair or pole, it would be stronger and - more "purdy!"
{I didn't use this on my Leprechaun cone, however, I went a far blingier route!!!}

Attach this last piece along the flaps from the three sided
piece with your favorite quick dry adhesive.

Now it looks like this:

To top off my lil' creation, I cut three pieces of white card stock with the
largest of my Labels Nine die. It fits PERFECTLY to the top of this shape!

{Look for ANOTHER post, soon, about how much I love using these together!}

Two for the back, that will be glued together, and one for the front, that will be folded.

Embellish these as you like and yell: KISS ME, I'm IRISH!

{Insert the appropriate exclamation, if you're not Irish, but believe me
you'll have some whootin' and hollering to do when this comes together!}

This is how it looks from the back!

For MORE exciting info on my blinged-out medallion...

....I would LOVE it if you'd click on over to Want2Scrap, and see just how this
bejeweled embellie came to life! THIS type of green makes me think Dorthy was
CRAZY to leave the Emerald City! KWIM! Owwww, that bling just feels like SPRING!

I hope this {LONG! Sorry!} tutorial didn't get you all mussy. Or fussy.
Unless, you liked... my TUSSY! And if you DID, and whether or not
there's a wee bit of Irish spirit in YOUR morning coffee... {!} I hope you'll
try this! Please, please, please, check out my post on Want2Scrap, so that
WHATEVER crafty and amazing thing you create next, you'll know EXACTLY
how to bling it OUT to sparkly perfection! THERE'S so, unbelievably much fun
crafty stuff at the Want2Scrap store - if you haven't walked the isles {hee hee}
you should treat yourself! Be sure to check out the Nestabling that coordinates
with some of the MOST amazing Spellbinder's dies - EVER! {*Swooooon!*}
