Group Release EXTRAVAGANZA!

Once again, we're finishing off the latest release from WPLUS9 Design Studio, with a bang!

The whole W9 TEAM is in for the show and WHAT a show it's been! I have to share , it's great fun, having gotten to know Dawn, via Blogland, and through the honor of being one of her designers... Getting to know her personal style, and a little something about her design sense {which is FABULOUS!}, I so look forward to "meeting" Dawn's stamps each month! Incorporating her flawless, crisp images and breath-taking design instincts, into WHATEVER I'm inspired to create... is an amazing process! Then, you multiply that by the entire team and how uniquely each one of us utilize Dawn's gorgeous stamps - I just find it SO exciting to see the diverse interpretation!

Speaking of interpretation and INSPIRATION! I was SOOOOOOOOOOO excited about the technique Dawn used on day 2 of the release {check it right here, folks - the FIRST card she made, in particular..}... The bold look of the resistance stamping she did was the inspiration for my final card of the release...

I stamped the word "Rock" on vanilla card stock with white craft ink and clear, detail embossing powder. It gave me a sharp, clean image, and after sponging on my ink, I had the POP of contrast I was lusting for. This grand punch, from Stampin' Up! and some opaque, faux stitching and YESSSIRREEEE! This effect made me VERY happy! I am in complete LOVE with BOTH of Dawn's latest sets, So 80's and Sweet Nothings! I had SUCH fun making this, girly-grunge style greeting... another on my long list of "I just don't make enough of......"

I hope you'll treat yourself to a visit with Dawn's other designers - I KNOW they've had fun, too!

Good stamps, YUMMY paper, the fabulous support and comments from this darling corner of Blogland, and I'm a HAPPY girl! Thanks for continuing to bring me such joy! I'm so honored that you stopped by! Have a WONDERFUL day!

December Release Extravaganza Day 3...

and from now on, I hope you'll call me "Lightning!"

Seriously. Hold on to your parts: I now present the FASTEST CARD I'VE EVER MADE! Ever!

It is CLEARLY, due to the intoxication and CREATIVE BOOST I'm feeling, ever so immersed in this latest release, for WPLUS9..... CLEARLY! {!} Never mind the unexpected house guest I had with me today, during the "Mom-is-most-productive" time of the day... The little girl, with big aches and flu-like symptoms...! {Drat!} Yep, I had with me a lil' "sicky"... From the looks of things and the temperature of her forehead, I'll probably have her tomorrow, too. So, there was not time for much "discovery" today {So no correlation to my close personal friend, T.H. for this post... Please make note of that - Savitri!} It was stamp, stick and S-H-I-N-E, or nothin'...

Good thing Dawn's stamps do most of the work {if you let 'em!}... Because I did not have the fore thought to take a before picture, you might have missed the fact that the wee-little heart on the chest of cute lil' squirrly character on the left, did not come "stock." No, no, no, friends! I added it! That dreamy heart is included in W9's Simply Sweet sentiment collection, and it was the precise way to customize the love-filled mood of this, here card. I stamped with Blazing Red Staz On {which is a lot more like BLAZING pink, so I also dabbed it in "Pumpkin" to create just the right, rich coral I was seeking.} It stamped on that darling chipboard character like buddah!"

How did Dawn know I needed a heart like that!?! She's kind of AMAZING that way. Today is the BIG reveal, my friends! So, CLICK, TAP or THUNK your mouse - what ever you do, to get on over to her fabulous blog where the BIG REVEAL is in full SPLENDOR! Both of her dynamic sets in all of their glory are visible for your consideration. And while we're considering... I urge you, yet again, to set your marks on the DT dream girls of W9! You NEVER know what kind of marvelous inspiration lays in store!

You DO bring me joy! You REALLY do! {What a fab and ENDLESSLY useful sentiment! Yipee!}

Thanks for stopping by!

- Lightning {HA HA! - Seriously, there isn't much in this world that I do fast, might as well get some mileage while I can!}

December Release Day & JUGS Puffy Embellies!

According to my close personal friend, Tim Holtz, {hee hee} it's all about the journey!

Funny that I thought of him when THIS project, for Day 2 of Dawn's WPLUS9 December Release, went in a TOTALLY unpredicted direction. I RATHER did, enjoy the journey!

Of course, I'm curating over every bauble, bit and button in preparation for the Twelve Tags of TIM!!! So, I guess I shouldn't be shocked that this lil' cluster of jingle bells and flocked and glittered chunk of snowball talked to me. SCREAMED at me, is more like it. Combined with a terrific sentiment from Dawn's latest, Sweet Nothings, I embarked on my journey! {see DAWN'S post for all of the details from this SO useful and all-season of possibility stamp collection!}

Here's some explanation from where my head is still spinning:

{Awwwwwwwwwwww... I still get swoony when I gaze upon this collection of some of the MOST delicious and delightful TREASURES via Tim Holtz, and a few of my own, just to make it personal...} Anyway, one of my FAVORITE additions, after the fact, was this lil' guy:

I am, now, SOOOOOOO caught up in the hunt for ancient Christmas ephemera. {I KNOW!} How thoughtful of Tim to get me so in the mood, just in time for the holidays and the TWELVE TAGS OF TIM! Anywhoo, in customizing my piece from my recent class with the MAN, himself... I've been obsessed with ancient goodies. Memories of the old family Christmas Ornaments... the one's I thought were "too old" and scoffed at when I was a kid... The ones that were destroyed by mice one year. Sadly, not many could be saved, but they are ETCHED in memory, so I get all sentimental for them, especially when someone AMAZING uses old stuff in such artistic ways ....
{Check OUT that vintage lightbulb! That's WHAT I'm talking about!} Anywhooo, I found these:

Totally confessing that, YES, I purchased them at a big box {!} store... {With coupon, of course} But with the leftover "belly" and a HUGE chunk of inspiration from these fun and CRAZY talented ladies...

I performed "surgery." {I LOVE the premise of this week's JUGS challenge! JUST LOVE IT, I say!}

A brad, some black embellishment wire and a snip of left over wire from my original snowman "body" for the nose... Hee Hee {Shall we call him "Parson Brown" ???} He's LUMPY, mirrored and I'm smitten! I glued him to a mirror that I planned to place in the center of some peek-a-boo stamping... and a round window...

I stamped with W9's Poinsettia Patterns, around a circle template, to create a frame...

After getting busy {No rulers were harmed in this process! I swear, I am an EYEBALL girl, only!}, with some FUN stamping and some creative "coluzzling"...

Frame.... STAMPED!

Sentiment, STAMPED! Embellies, TIED! Circle, COLUZZLED!

Card... DONE! WPLUS9 December Release Extravaganza, IN FULL SWING!
Drop your sleigh by THESE lovely ladies' inspirational spots for MORE, g-r-e-a-t fun!

A winter chill + a warm heart! Great inspiration and FABULOUS stamps and I am ON MY WAY to Christmas {and THE TWELVE TAGS OF TIM!!!!!! - Do you think I'm a BIT excited? Naww!} and the FULL magic of the season! Hitch up the reindeer and CLIMB into your creative sleigh: it's going to be a WILD ride and one fun, stampy season, friends! THANKS for stopping by!

MAN CARD *alert* and Wplus9 release EXTRAVAGANZA!

I REALLY don't do enough man cards. {Shame on me!}

So, was I THRILLED when Dawn's latest release contained this great set called "So 80's!" Now, just because it took my husband a REALLY long time to let the look of that decade go... {!} Well, THAT'S not the only reason that this set spoke "man" to me... but it sure helped! Also, I "hear" Ashton Kutcher's voice reading the sentiment. It's AWWE-SOME! {hee hee - CAN YOU HEAR HIM?}

Inspired by some terrific Crate Paper and these "totally radical" stamps... I got some man-card GOING on, but I'm sure the other gals have featured this fabulous set with a WHOLE lot of diversity, so I hope you'll peek around to see what Dawn's other designers are up to! Including, DAWN, of course. Since she makes the sets, I LOVE to see how her samples make connections with the stamps that I might not, otherwise, have come up with on my own. We're a fun bunch! {If I do say so, myself!} So, I hope you'll take a gander at what other inspiration flows from this terrific collection of images and 80's appropriate lingo... hee hee

Here are some of the particulars to get you planning!

So 80's

  • is a 6x8 clear photopolymer stamp set
  • contains 14 stamps; 8 sentiment builders, 5 background accents, and 1 image.
  • will be available for purchase December 1st for just $19

THIS is a super fun...ur, I mean... totally AWESOME release! I'm delighted to be sharing MORE with you in the next few days, so I hope you'll come back! Plus, it's a good excuse to say out of the malls and just MAKE STUFF!!! {hee hee}

It's a little distressing...

... If your name is Tim Holtz. Poor guy.

And you have a "fan" like me...

{To date, he has not taken out a restraining order on me... Uh, at least not in California. }

Hee Hee

No, no, no... NOT distressing, like STALKER... Distressing like... what we do with Tim's Ranger Ink products! This month, Darling Dawn "W", from WPLUS9, has turned ALL EYES ON Distress Inks! Lucky for me {love THEM!}, I'm fresh from my time with T!m, so this was ALL good fun for me!

Tim's ink + Dawn's stamps = a match made in {stalker!} heaven! See!

Can you say "STAMP! Sponge! Emboss, pearlize, shpritz and S-W-O-O-N!"

Thanks to ANOTHER terrific subject of stamping and crafting exploration, this month's AEO nurtured my inner ALTERED and INKY side!
Perfect Pearls, Tim's recipe glimmer mist and
Dawn's stamps, "Season of Thanks" & Woodgrain Silhouettes" satisfied my every use of distress inks! I love that Distress Inks, although dye-based are embossable! Combined with Perfect Pearls Powder, it's a glimmier possibility of infinite color and shimmer! Autumn hues and these materials, made ME a happy stamper and, hopefully helped to provide some serious inspiration to break out YOUR favorite stamps {hopefully from W9! hee hee} and get some ink ONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

Hope you'll check my dear and crafty buds who make Dawn's stamps shine like the finest diamonds, each & every month -
LOT'S of us got busy with these excellent products for the latest "All Eyes On!"

Meanwhile, I can't resist sharing just a few more pix from my
FANTASTIC day with the Holtz man, himself...
I composed myself enough to take some fun shots with my DARLING pals,
Clarie, Tim... {yeah, HE'S my darling pal, all right!} Missy and Dana! Don't we look like pals!

And here's our "prom shot!" {Yeah, we go WAAAAAAAYYYYYY back!}

{Is that HIS own stamp design embroidered RIGHT thar on his shirt? SO much cleverness!}

So, friends. I'll stop. {For now...} Once again, SHAMELESS! - I'm SHAMELESS!

Thanks for checking in with lil' old {!} inky me. I had SUCH fun participating in Dawn's
"All Eyes On" this month! I hope you will, too! Have a wonderfully crafty/inky day!

Mixin' up some color WITH Color Cue 10!

Oh, friends - Dawn is REALLY mixing things up, this round!

Believe it or NOT, I can GUARANTEE that you will LOVE, love, L-O-V-E this particular Color Cue! Here's why:

WAIT!!! Wait, wait, I know what you're thinking.... "Who does SHE think she is!?! Maybe I don't even LIKE those colors... How can SHEEEEE guarantee that I will love this color combo?"

Now, that's just shameless! Here's me, hoping to CONVINCE you to L-O-V-E
this color combo, simply because I enjoyed it so much.... {Shameless! Truly!}

Okay, wait! Just give me a chance...!

How intuitive is Dawn? I had SO much fun working with a similar color palette in my last post, and I was even WISHING that such a color combo could be much more LARGELY celebrated...

And speaking of celebrations, how 'bout some GATE FOLD inspiration with the super fun and fabulous gals of the JUST US GIRLS crew? Oooooowwww, baby! What a fun twist on card craft!

There is something SO fun about a card that operates in a unique way! I'm just DELIGHTED with this challenge, and the opportunity to INSIST that you love Dawn's latest Color Cue......

I had a blast sifting through some of the newest and some of my all time FAVORITE WPLUS9 stamps, to create this stampy, layered, glittered and inky piece... I love making a card like this really "click" together with the use of some of the MOST IMPORTANT paper craft embellishments EVER created... Basic Grey magnets! I hid one inside the oval sentiment flap:

On the back side of the card, I easily found the magnetic point and then attached the
"negative" magnet, secured with some embellishment glue, like so:

This way the card lays perfectly flat, when needed. but opens easily and makes a
memorable greeting for ANY occasion! Thanks for the terrific inspiration, JUGS girls!

So, are you wondering if I'm STILL insisting that you will positively LOVE W9's latest Color Cue? Well, HERE'S the twist... ALL OF US PICKED OUR OWN COLORS! That's right! Each member of the W9 team picked our own colors to work with! YOU may choose your favorite palette to play along! You can pick 1 or ALL of the palettes, if you so desire! It's custom color play! {Yipee! What fun!} Do WE know how to party with paper, or WHAT!?! You'll definitely want to click around and see what else is being offered...

{But IIIIIIIII will love you BEST if you pick mine... just sayin'!}

Oh, now THAT was shameless!{!} I kid. You know THAT! {*Wink!*} I'm a kidder!

Oh, gosh, one more thing I have to gush about - if you, too, get a chance to
combine BOTH of these wonderful challenges... { What a GREAT idea!!!! }
The JUGS girls are busy celebrating a very special birthday
girl from their divine team... And, well, she's kind of a CLOSE,
personal, friend of mine.... HEEE HEEEE: It's Dana!
Happy Birthday, sweet girl!

See why I call her, "Sweet Lil' Dane!" {She makes that Tim fellow look so handsome!}
Anyway, I didn't have time to make her a card, yet, so I thought I'd just embarrass her.
{I know! - I AM shameless!} I loves you, lil' Dane! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It's a CORNUCOPIA-O-STAMPING!

That's the only way to describe what happened when I began to play with Dawn's latest release!
In particular, these two sets, All Occasion Tags & From The Kitchen Of :they WILL keep you busy!

Here's what I did:

{Tee Hee!}

Some super fun to stamp, "Tag ART!" {This set, designed by Hannah, is SO well thought out!!!!}

I'd share my LOCALLY famous pumpkin seed roasting recipe, but then, you'd have to go into witness protection...
When queried, I'll just give you some - it's easier! {Mwwwwaaa haa haaaa!}

Soup, on the other hand, it's not as cloak & dagger....

The writing is ON the card!!! {Literally!} Make some and ENJOY!

I had SUCH fun paper piecing and coloring this lil' darling. Couldn't POSSIBLY turn this city girl into a cowgirl, but you might like to know that I added some "tunes" and tiny bit of sentiment from Dawn's set, Birds & Bees.... {I know, I'm naughty that way!} ... Here are some details from this charming collection:

Retro Girly Christmas

Also, after spending my ENTIRE Saturday, with a lil' fella'... named, Tim... You might have heard of him...? He's kinda talented with paper n' stuff. Check out HIS blog, and you'll see some of the MOST darling friends, with whom I ROAD TRIPPED with, to this great scrapbook & EVERYTHING store in Elk Grove, Ca.... Including, my SIGNED sweatshirt! hee hee}

So, if I sound a little punch drunk, I'm still FLOATING! {I won an alpha die & Christmas texture fade folders - YEAH, babies! I did, I did, I did!} Also, my post was delayed tonight, due to a little mishap with a wayward cow... Auntie {like 100 years old - seriously!}... broke through fences like they were made of potato chips and took a stroll through a neighbor's vineyard and out towards my kid's SCHOOL! My young son and I stealth fully tracked her and beckoned her home... {It was like a lovely children's book, only, with cursing.} Husband was "at a meeting" {HA HA} and wasn't of much help in the round up... {Yes, I WROTE that on social media!}

Talk about getting your juices flowing... {Ahem!} Well, we got her back in bounds, for now! A {one!} cowgirl's work is never done. I followed up the rustlin' with a late night of catch up and stamping with my fave night-time talk show hosts - it's ALL good!

I adore you all!

Oh, and don't forget to check out what Dawn, Kerrianne and Jinny did with this latest couple of sets.... Tomorrow, the fun will continue: YEEEEE HAAAAAAWWWW!
